This morning my dad was pissing me off when I was driving to work (we work at the same place). And every morning when I drive , he has to point out something that I did wrong. Just to do it. Usually I would just let it go, but why not tell you Guys my experience.
Before Actually Turning on the car
Now let me just put out there that my dad Is one or those types of dads that know a shit load of stuff about cars. He knows what type, what engine, what specific piece. Meanwhile I'm just there like "keys turn on the car". But how could he possibly find a way to make me mad before even driving? Well this is how it happens. I get in the car and sit there and he just stares at me (which doesn't make it any better). I'm like "oh shit did I forget something?". And then he goes on a large ramble on how I'm one of those guys who doesn't check anything. "Did you check the tires? If your lights work, we you adjusted correctly in your seat". And I'm just like "uhh sure?". That's my first error because now all during the drive he's going to have a pissed off face and get angrier and angrier for every mess up I do.
Actually driving
Well this can become very unpleasant to the point I just want to stop the car in the middle of the road (but I don't because I want to live). It's annoying. I remember when I first started driving he would freak out so bad to the point that screaming was involved. YOU'RE ONLY MAKING IT WORSE. But you know how parents think, fuck logic.
Close to Crashing
Not trying to exaggerate but , almost could of happned . I get that parents or instructors have that habit of pointing in the direction they want you to go, but that isn't always the best method. Especially if the hand movements aren't clear enough. We were behind 2 slow ass motorcycles. My dad made a hand movement that seemed to be "go left to pass them". Well the motorcycle was too close to the line and I started freaking out to the point that I moved left as i thought he meant. Turns out I was wrong and nearly hit a car. We had this discussion on that he wasn't clear enough but as always , fuck logic .
Sometimes I think driving by myself is better.
